Position: Data Engineer AWS (100% Remote)

What does it mean to be a Data Engineer at Nimber?
It means designing and managing data pipelines that power decision-making. It means working with AWS services to build secure, scalable, and efficient data architectures. It means turning complexity into clarity.

What youll be doing (in epic fashion):

• Design and maintain ETL processes using AWS Glue, including Glue Catalog, Jobs, and Crawlers.
• Manage AWS S3 for data storage and retrieval, ensuring security and performance.
• Build and secure data lakes with AWS Lake Formation, applying best practices for governance and architecture.
• Use AWS Athena for querying large datasets and optimizing SQL queries for speed and efficiency.
• Create and implement data models tailored to business needs.
• Apply AWS security best practices, including IAM roles, encryption, and access control.
• Optimize performance across AWS services and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects and deliver on time.

What were looking for:

Mandatory:

• Minimum of 4 years in similar experiences.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, S3, Lake Formation, and Athena.
• Strong skills in data modeling and ETL design.
• Understanding of AWS security principles (IAM, encryption).
• Ability to optimize performance and troubleshoot AWS services.
• Solid communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project management capability to handle multiple priorities.
• AWS Certification (Big Data or Solutions Architect) is a big plus.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of AWS Redshift for data warehousing.
• Familiarity with AWS Aurora for relational database services.
• Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
