Infrastructure Support Engineer

NexGen Data Systems (NGDS) is seeking an Infrastructure Support Engineer who will independently troubleshoot enterprise network issues to ensure continuity of service for customers. The selected individual must be able to evaluate circumstances, identify root cause, and develop a plan for resolution. A successful candidate must have an understanding of complex networks and utilize the latest practices and principles to resolve issues. This engineer will support all MTFs in the DHA enterprise and be responsible for troubleshooting issues with network devices. There will be customer engagement on a daily basis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Troubleshooting and resolving network issues in a timely manner with a variety of different network devices and protocols

· Working in a team setting and making recommendations related to troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation

· Effectively interacting with multiple customers on a daily basis

Desired/Required Skills/Experience:

• 6+ years relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure.

• A strong working knowledge with Cisco Routers/Switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, and F5 devices.

• A good understanding of TCP/IP in regard to routing and subnetting.

• Must be a team player that can work under pressure with good written and oral communication skills.

• A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority.

Experience with the following Network protocols and services:

• Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP)

• Access Control Lists

• Layer 2 Switching

• Spanning Tree

• Packet Analysis
