Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Build & Release Systems
Location & Work Mode: 100% Remote, Canada
Experience: 8 to 10 Years
Rate: $70 to $75 CAD PH
Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise-grade build, release, and engineering workflow systems. This role focuses on developing reliable automation and tooling that supports large-scale software delivery for a Fortune 500 product environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software delivery and engineering workflow components using C++ and Python.
- Drive automation for build, test, packaging, and release pipelines across multiple platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD pipeline issues, including build failures, dependency conflicts, and environment-related problems.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure and DevOps teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance of engineering systems.
- Review, analyze, modify, test, debug, and deploy changes supporting application systems and delivery tooling.
- Partner with engineering, release, build, and reliability stakeholders to clarify objectives and continuously improve processes.
- Execute work following established SDLC practices, including coding standards, unit testing, and technical documentation.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong professional programming experience in C++ and Python.
- Proven ability to design and support build and release automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with scripting to automate workflows and engineering tooling.
- Working knowledge of CI systems such as GitHub and Jenkins or equivalent tools.
- Experience supporting development across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
- Strong debugging skills across build systems, runtime issues, and automation scripts.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to large-scale developer productivity or engineering enablement platforms.
- Experience collaborating closely with DevOps or infrastructure-focused teams.
- Familiarity with complex dependency management and cross-platform build systems.
