The journey of Morse Micro began in 2016, born from the vision of two former Broadcom engineers, Michael De Nil and Andrew Terry. Having witnessed firsthand the limitations of conventional Wi-Fi when applied to the burgeoning Internet of Things (IoT) market, they recognized a critical gap. The power-hungry nature and limited range of existing Wi-Fi chips were simply not sustainable for the billions of battery-operated smart devices envisioned for the future. They saw the potential in a new, long-range, low-power standard, IEEE 802.11ah, and seized the opportunity to build something revolutionary from the ground up. What started as a bold idea in Sydney, Australia, quickly attracted the attention and support of seasoned industry veterans, including some of the original inventors of Wi-Fi itself. This infusion of expertise and early seed funding from the Australian Government in 2017 propelled the fledgling startup forward, validating their mission to create the first Wi-Fi HaLow silicon chip designed to securely connect smart devices over vast distances.

From these ambitious beginnings, Morse Micro has grown into a global semiconductor powerhouse and the world's most well-funded Wi-Fi HaLow company, with a significant international presence including offices in the US, UK, China, India, Japan, and Taiwan. The company's path has been marked by significant milestones, including securing over $200 million in funding from a diverse group of investors, from venture capital firms like Blackbird Ventures and Main Sequence Ventures to major Australian superannuation funds. This strong financial backing has enabled Morse Micro to assemble a world-class team of engineers and accelerate the development and commercialization of their groundbreaking technology. Their portfolio, which includes the industry's smallest, fastest, and lowest-power Wi-Fi HaLow compliant SoCs and modules, is now poised to redefine connectivity for a massive ecosystem of IoT applications, ranging from smart homes and industrial automation to smart cities and agricultural technology. Morse Micro is not just developing chips; they are building the foundational technology for a more connected and efficient future, one where every device can communicate seamlessly and sustainably.
