A Day in Your Life at MKS:

You will lead the identification and development of both legacy and new packaging and shipping solutions for our products. Key focus areas for this role include the packaging and shipping of manufactured goods, including package and crate design, as well as collaborating on inbound packaging design with suppliers to ensure MKS optimizes space and adheres to sustainable environmental solutions.

This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Mexico; however, we are only able to hire applicants located in the following regions: CDMX, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Querétaro. The position requires extensive international travel, approximately 25–30%. Please submit resumes in English only, as only English resumes will be reviewed

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • The design and development of product crates, skids, and the incorporation of hardware and materials to ensure effective and robust end-to-end transportation.
  • The identification of legacy packaging for consolidation to reduce cost through evaluating packaging and labeling requirements across all MKS Business units.
  • You translate contract requirements and write packaging SOPs as well as a detailed ROI analysis to finance.
  • You develop material handling solutions for internal use will be an interesting part of this role.
  • You identify packaging materials (days of supply) needed and collaborate with external suppliers to minimize cost and storage of packaging materials at MKS facilities.
  • You evaluate Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) requirements and translate those into packing and storage solutions.
  • You keep up to date on related packaging industry best practices and technological advancements.
  • Ability to obtain a visa for international travel. Although based in Queretaro, Mexico, this role will require significant travel to other facilities.

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude of packaging materials & processes.
  • Solid computer literacy and experience with MS Office.
  • The ability to research related packaging issues and identify solutions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and develop written instructions from technical drawings and documents.

• Fluency in English

  • Demonstrate ability to travel domestic, and international.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and cognitive skills,
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Product Development rendering skills.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with concept development and feasibility testing.
  • Experience in global product launches and the associated regulatory requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years in package engineering with documented success in reducing cost and complexity.
  • Industry Certification from one or more is highly desired: CPP, CPE, APEC, LSSBB, PMP
  • Experience working in the semiconductor or supplier industries is highly preferred.
  • Experience in robotics or automation and CPAE.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate high ROI in legacy packaging re-design and consolidation.
  • Proven ability to author user requirement specifications, technical protocols, reports, and assessments.
  • Knowledge about environmental sustainability and life cycle analysis, including working on LCA software
