Mirantis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer & Open Source Leader to join its Open Source Program Office (OSPO) team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for open source communities, technical expertise in AI/ML, Python, Golang, Kubernetes, OpenStack, and related technologies, and experience in software development, mentorship, and community engagement.
Requirements
- 7+ years in software development with significant experience in Python and Golang.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Experience and understanding of how to leverage AI-powered co-development tools such as Cursor IDE, Claude Code, Cline, Aider.Chat or similar
- Strong understanding of open source best practices, including code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Bring a deep understanding of scale-out cloud-native architectures such as parallel computing (e.g., goroutines), Kubernetes clusters, and distributed systems.
- Deep experience with all forms of APIs.
- Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for deploying, managing, and scaling microservices.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, including Cluster API, CNI, CSI, and Telemetry.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Highly Desirable: Participation in open source projects as a contributor or maintainer, experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git, familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
