Sr Android Engineer

MileIQ is seeking a talented and motivated Sr Android Engineer for a position located in #Brazil, #Mexico or #Poland. As an Android Engineer at MileIQ, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining our Android applications, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for our customers. Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to design and deliver high-quality Android applications.

Develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Android code.

Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

Continuously explore and implement new technologies to enhance the overall user experience.

Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to Android development.

Requirements

Ideal

• Has 5+ years of experience with Android.
• Experience in Android app development with a strong portfolio of previous work.
• Proficient in Java and Kotlin programming languages.
• Solid understanding of Android architecture components and best practices.
• Previous experience in location-based apps (background location monitoring, geofences).
• Experience with RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with mobile app security best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Good understanding of Kotlin coroutines.

Preferred

• Experience with device sensor data (motion and position data, activity recognition)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise) and automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Jetpack Compose experience.
