Position Summary

The Quality Assurance A&P Mechanic is responsible for the inspection of aircraft maintenance to ensure all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance functions have been accomplished in accordance with all FAA regulations, OEM instructions as well as all company policies and procedures. Quality Assurance A&P Mechanic’s perform spot-checks on work in progress, final inspections on maintenance items and are familiar with the provisions and responsibilities in the various programs managed and monitored by maintenance and quality control.

Essential Functions and Competency Statements

  • Primary responsibility is to perform on-site aircraft maintenance as part of integrated maintenance team, serving to support aircraft inspections and repairs on the Beechcraft King Air BE350 as an A&P Mechanic.
  • While working directly for the Program Manager and in support of the maintenance posture of aircraft assigned, will work in close coordination with MSA Quality Assurance and Director of Maintenance to ensure that overall maintenance best practices and procedures are consistent with MSA company-wide policies.
  • Ensures that inspections performed on airframe, engines and components are in accordance with Company Policies and procedures, maintenance manuals and approved technical data.
  • Monitors workmanship and materials to verify that the Company and FAA rules, regulations, and standards are complied with. Performs buy-back inspection on non-routine items and provides inspection signoffs as required.
  • Ensures that aircraft modifications or component changes are in compliance with maintenance manual procedures or approved technical data procedures. Ensures all required inspection items (RII) are completed and documented properly.
  • Ensures that receiving inspections of incoming parts, components, equipment supplies, and materials is completed in accordance with the Company General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
  • Ensure assistance in the classification of repairs and alterations in relation to Major or Minor Repairs. Ensure appropriate forms are completed to document any major repair or alteration.
  • Monitors/audits aircraft inspection reports, log pages and records for accuracy and completeness of entries prior to being sent to the Aircraft Records Department.
  • Conducts daily audits of aircraft work packages including checks/inspections forms, log pages, routines and non-routines, modification orders, etc. to ensure completion, correctness, use of appropriate references to approve data in all entries and forms.
  • Monitors the safety and housekeeping of the work areas.
  • Monitors the Company Precision Measuring Equipment Program.

Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

During deployment, employees will be living under field conditions and must be able to work with little supervision in austere or arduous environments. Work environment varies widely based on geographic location of contract operations.

This position requires physical abilities.

Expected Hours of Work
The daily working hours for this position vary Monday through Sunday. Hours and work shifts may vary in accordance with business needs. You will be scheduled to forward deploy/work approximately 60 days OCONUS followed by rotation off-site for approximately 60 days. Rotation schedule might be adjusted in order to meet program requirements.

Various Locations - OCONUS

Travel
Travel requirements are 50% - OCONUS deployment.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in aviation management, engineering, or a related field. Equivalent years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in turboprop aircraft maintenance, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working on Beechcraft King Air B350 aircraft.
  • Computer Skills: Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite Programs, STC Programs, FAA Form 337.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have a current US Passport

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates

  • Education: Master’s degree in aviation management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    1. Prior military supporting aircraft maintenance from forward deployed locations.
    2. Beechcraft King Air BE350 highly preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.
  • Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to hold and maintain a Secret (or higher) Clearance Level.
