Staff Test Engineer

You lead a multidisciplinary team from conception through to delivery. You inspire others and are capable of tackling complex challenges with enthusiasm and drive. You lead the team (with support from other domains and appropriate support as needed from a Director) to deliver the best possible outcome

for the client and Method. Your role is core to the success of the project and the quality of deliverables. You are comfortable with complexity and able to navigate uncertainty. You are able to adapt and lead a project through changing and/or challenging circumstances.

Travel for team and client meetings is required, typically up to 15%.

Responsibilities:

• You can manage a project of any complexity and size. Your colleagues look to you to shape, drive, and guide a project and its team
• You mentor and guide your teammates to deliver the best possible outcome, supporting each colleague's individual development goals
• You understand each domain of the project, including the roles and the strengths of each teammate
• You exhibit an inclusive leadership style embracing diversity of all kinds, including cognitive diversity
• In cases where you are uncertain or need support, you know how and when to ask for help
• You are an effective communicator, able to synthesize and communicate progress to the client. You are an active listener, showing appreciation for
• the views of others. You deftly handle client conversations
• You consistently evaluate existing processes and procedures to identify areas that need optimization
• You work to build, set up, and improve systems, procedures, and equipment
• You collaborate with the engineering team on prototype development
• You educate others through written and verbal content ( posts, blogs, presentations, etc. )
• You periodically participate in sales support opportunities
• You help out with the interviewing and Hiring process
• Review test cases and ensure that they align with requirements and have appropriate coverage.
• Support project teams in defining suitable quality objectives and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback and suggestions to increase quality.
• Fulfill all the duties of more junior test engineer team members when necessary.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of experience in test engineering, including automation testing
• 5 years experience with mobile testing
• Ability to contribute at a high level within a team environment, with experience leading small to mid-sized teams
• Ability to create accurate estimates, manage and prioritize work, and communicate very effectively
• Experience with identifying and communicating project risk
• Strive for quality while actively tracking and eliminating technical debt within projects
• Ensure that best practices, processes, and procedures are being followed within their project teams and in the engineering department
• Lead client relationships and are able to deliver large, complex projects
• Experience with Appium

This salary range is specific to New York City residents only, and provided as a general, good faith estimate. The amount offered may be higher or lower.
