The Role

As an Area Sales Manager (ASM) for the Midwest (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota), you are both a team leader and a strategic business partner to a select group of high-value HCP customers. You lead a team of KAMs while personally owning key practitioner relationships, driving Joint Business Planning (JBP) execution, and ensuring performance across the territory. You lead with extreme ownership—owning results, outcomes, and team success at every level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personally own and lead Joint Business Plans with a subset of the region’s largest, most strategic HCP customers, setting the tone for excellence
  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of KAMs to achieve area-level sales, unit volume, and digital recommendation targets
  • Support the execution of Joint Business Plans by removing barriers, providing feedback, and elevating customer engagement quality
  • Analyze team pipeline and CRM data to drive weekly accountability, forecast accuracy, and territory performance
  • Facilitate ongoing skill development in strategic selling, digital enablement, and category education
  • Partner with Marketing, Digital, and Category teams to support regional execution and campaign rollouts
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity to shape area strategies and team focus
  • Deliver regular business reviews with Leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Champion team culture, process discipline, and a performance-driven mindset
  • Identify and nurture future talent through mentorship, development planning, and succession efforts

Basic Requirements

Experience / Training / Education

  • 5–7 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 1–2 years in a people leadership or field sales coaching role
  • Proven track record of delivering sales results through team performance and strategic execution
  • Experience conducting business reviews, managing pipelines, and using CRM systems to drive accountability
  • Familiarity with Joint Business Planning frameworks and selling to healthcare professionals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field required
  • Completion of sales leadership or coaching certifications preferred

Knowledge of

  • Territory planning, forecasting, and resource allocation for high-performing sales teams
  • Sales process discipline and performance management systems
  • Key sales KPIs: revenue, unit volume, product penetration, recommendation rates, digital adoption
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Trade Marketing, Digital, and Field Enablement teams Coaching frameworks and development planning

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to give feedback, set expectations, and inspire
  • Data-driven decision-maker with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communicator—able to influence up, down, and across functions
  • High degree of ownership and accountability; thrives in a fast-paced, goal-oriented culture
  • Able to prioritize across short-term results and long-term development

Compensation

The current range for this remote role based out of the Midwest is $143,000/yr. to $165,000/yr.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
