The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is dedicated to preserving and optimizing human life through education, research, and patient care. Established in 1824 in Charleston, MUSC stands as South Carolina’s only comprehensive academic health system and is also recognized as one of the nation’s leading academic health science centers. Every year, MUSC trains over 3,100 students across six colleges: Medicine, Dental Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions, and Graduate Studies.

In addition to these educational programs, the institution supports the training of more than 900 residents and fellows within its robust healthcare network. MUSC emphasizes a multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare education, fostering collaboration among various health specialties to effectively address the complexities of patient care.
