We are a national health solutions partner, deeply committed to improving the wellbeing of Canadians. As a not-for-profit organization, our focus is on people, not shareholders. This allows us to reinvest our earnings into creating better health and wellness products and services for our members and giving back to the communities we serve through the Medavie Health Foundation. Our roots trace back to 1943 with the establishment of the Maritime Hospital Service Association, born out of a need to help people manage the cost of hospital care. From these humble beginnings, we have grown into a comprehensive health services organization that touches the lives of one in ten Canadians.

Our organization is comprised of two main pillars: Medavie Blue Cross and Medavie Health Services. Medavie Blue Cross is a premier all-in-one benefits carrier, providing health, dental, travel, life, and disability coverage for individuals and organizations across Canada. We also have the privilege of administering various federal and provincial government-sponsored health programs. Medavie Health Services is a leader in primary health care solutions and stands as the largest contracted provider of emergency management services in Canada. Together, our team of over 8,000 dedicated professionals works tirelessly to ensure faster, easier access to quality care and outstanding plan value. We are guided by our core values of being caring, accountable, responsive, innovative, and community-minded in everything we do.
