Job Purpose The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. This role combines advanced SQL expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and business acumen to partner with stakeholders and technical teams to solve complex problems, improve performance, and enable data-driven strategies. The Senior Data Analyst will bridge the gap between data, technology, and business outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources
  • Perform advanced analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business performance
  • Automate recurring reports and enhance scalable, efficient reporting processes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate requirements into analytical solutions
  • Conduct deep-dive and root cause analyses to inform recommendations and decision-making
  • Present findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on metrics, KPIs, and performance measurement
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and reporting tools
  • Partner with data engineering teams to enhance data models, pipelines, and ETL processes
  • Define and document business rules, data definitions, and quality standards
  • Validate and reconcile data to ensure reliable analytics and reporting
  • Lead analytical workstreams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Support cross-functional initiatives with analytical guidance
  • Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in SQL development and analytics
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
  • Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field required
  • 4–5+ years of experience in business or data analysis with strong SQL focus required
  • 4–5+ years of experience in healthcare required
  • Advanced SQL proficiency required (e.g., complex joins, CTEs, window functions, indexing, optimization)
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, relational databases, and ETL concepts
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R preferred
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or other data-intensive industries preferred
  • Experience working in fast-paced or agile environments preferred
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Gracious and welcoming personality for customer service interaction
