The journey of McDonough Bolyard Peck, Inc. (MBP) began not in a boardroom, but over a dinner table at Kilroy's Restaurant in Springfield, Virginia. In 1989, three engineers, Frank McDonough, Charlie Bolyard, and Blake Peck, sketched out a vision on a napkin for a new kind of construction management consulting firm. Their idea was to build a company founded on a bedrock of six core values: integrity, innovation, teamwork, continuous improvement, client satisfaction, and fiscal responsibility. This humble beginning marked the start of a remarkable story of growth and dedication to excellence in the complex world of construction. From their first small office opened in Vienna, Virginia, in January 1990, the firm has been on a steady trajectory of expansion, both in size and in the breadth of its capabilities. This growth was not just about increasing revenue or headcount; it was about a commitment to being a trusted advisor and a true partner to their clients, navigating the intricate challenges of the built environment.

Over the decades, MBP has evolved from a small startup into a nationally recognized leader in construction management. Today, the firm is led by a new generation of leaders who continue to uphold the founders' original vision. With a team of over 350 dedicated professionals, MBP serves a diverse range of clients across the nation and internationally, from government agencies and educational institutions to healthcare organizations and private developers. Their expertise now spans a wide array of services, including program and construction management, project risk analysis, facility performance consulting, and dispute resolution. The firm's commitment to its people is as strong as its commitment to its clients, fostering a culture of professional development, collaboration, and a healthy work-life balance. This dedication has not gone unnoticed, with MBP consistently earning accolades as a top workplace. What started as a simple sketch on a napkin has transformed into a thriving enterprise, a testament to the enduring power of a clear vision and unwavering values in building a lasting legacy.
