We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support a high-scale, cloud infrastructure environment operating in the payments and financial services domain. This is a delivery-focused role requiring strong hands-on execution in mature, production-critical systems with strict requirements around security, availability, and performance.

- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP
- Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation
- Support Kubernetes-based environments and containerised workloads
- Design and manage networking components including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, and connectivity
- Implement security controls, access management, and compliance-related configurations
- Monitor infrastructure, optimise performance and cost, and improve reliability
- Automate operational tasks using scripting and tooling
- Support incident response and troubleshooting in production environments
- Maintain clear technical documentation and operational runbooks
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience as a Systems Engineer or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
- Commercial experience with AWS and GCP
- Advanced knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
- Solid experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management
- Strong Linux and networking fundamentals
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Scripting skills in Bash or Python
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation
- Confident English for daily cooperation with international teams
Nice to have - Experience working in regulated or payments environments
- Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tooling
- Understanding of cost optimisation and FinOps practices
