The Senior Financial Accountant’s responsibilities will include maintaining the general ledger in accordance with accounting principles (GAAP), reconciling account balances and bank statements, preparing month-end close procedures, assisting with external audits and corporate tax compliance.
The Senior Accountant will help drive process improvements and support business and accounting initiatives with a growth mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ownership of fixed assets and prepaid schedules.
- Timely coordination with relevant team members, regions, and departments for completion of all month-end tasks.
- Daily cash reporting within the treasury function
- Support financial audits by preparing documentation and working closely with external auditors.
- Assist in tax compliance, reporting, and regulatory filings as needed.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies.
- Participate in systems and process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Provide insightful and relevant monthly and periodic variance analysis for forecasting purposes.
- Adhoc requests as required by accounting leadership.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the SaaS or technology industry.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls required.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and strong attention to detail.
- Strong decision-making abilities and a proven ability to work autonomously.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related field.
