About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and scale robust backend systems and APIs. You will be responsible for building high-performance backend services, data pipelines, and API integrations, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and maintainable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python (3.7+) and FastAPI.
• Implement asynchronous processing, background tasks, and dependency injection within FastAPI.

• Integrate OpenAPI/Swagger documentation for all backend endpoints.

• Design and integrate RESTful APIs with frontend systems and third-party services, handling versioning, error responses, and edge cases.
• Build and optimize data models in relational databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL, and work with NoSQL systems like MongoDB.
• Design and maintain ETL pipelines for bulk data ingestion, transformation, validation, and deduplication to ensure master data integrity.
• Work on real-time data streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka or similar tools.
• Deploy, monitor, and scale services on cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
• Containerize services using Docker and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes.

• Set up CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.

• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and data engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Python (3.7+) with experience in type annotations, asynchronous programming, and scripting.

• Proven experience building scalable backend services using FastAPI.

• Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience designing and managing ETL pipelines and real-time data streaming systems.
• Familiarity with cloud services (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure) and infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of microservices architecture.

• Familiarity with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS).

• Experience with security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting).
