This Trauma Registrar position at Logan Health Medical Center, is responsible for collecting, managing, and analyzing data related to patients treated for traumatic injuries.

This position can be worked in-person at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, MT, or be fully remote. To be eligible to work remotely for Logan Health, you must reside in one of the following states:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS)

  • Participate in and pass the AAAM’s Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) course for the version used at your center

  • Participate in a trauma registry course that includes all of the following content:

    – Abstraction

    – Data management

    – Reports/report analysis
    – Data validation

    – HIPAA

  • Participate in an ICD-10 course or an ICD-10 refresher course every five years

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical, health information, or quality services experience in a hospital setting required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and statistics preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Creates accurate patient lists from various sources of all applicable patients in the appropriate registry for assigned area(s).

  • In compliance with the registry data dictionary standards, abstracts clinical cases and submits required data within established deadlines.

  • Performs data quality audits and scrubs. Follows established procedures to ensure accuracy. Works with the registry team to correct any erroneous abstracts.

  • Maintains compliance with privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Shift:

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
