You will lead the day-to-day management and creative direction of our brand design team. Working and collaborating closely with product & brand marketing, product design and paid & organic social, you will drive our brand and product forward through compelling creative that tells the story of our product to our millions of existing creators and the millions more to come. You will inherit an outstanding brand created in collaboration with Collins, one of the world’s leading creative and branding agencies, and a globally distributed, dedicated, diverse, and inclusive team across the fields of copywriting, creative, art direction, motion and design. You will ensure everything we create is aligned to our brand, meets a high standard and showcases our product.
You will work with our Chief Marketing Officer and Co-founder / Chief Creative Officer, Nicky, and the many other incredible people across Linktree that brand design serves and supports!
Who You Are:
You are a senior creative whose leadership and people management skills are on par with your creativity. You will have a broad and compelling portfolio showing the work you have lead across integrated campaigns, digital, motion, social, paid, product and more. You are a creative that can work across content types and channels. You develop and shape ideas and messages that cut through and know how to bring them to life across many formats and channels. You have mentored design teams and understand how to empower individuals to stretch, grow, work with higher levels of autonomy and deliver high quality work. You also have a track record for working in cross-functional and collaborative teams to ensure the process of design is efficient, streamlined, and structured. You have a keen eye for brand consistency, tone, inspiration and communication. The success of this role will be driven by the success of the individuals in your team. There is a strong preference for this person to be based on the West Coast for time difference purposes.
What You Will Do:
Lead, develop, and grow our versatile team, empowering those around you to level up their craft and creative.
Lead the way for how Linktree launches new product initiatives, how we speak to our audiences across all our channels, and drive impactful creative campaigns.
Be the custodian of our incredible brand and contribute to identity, strategy, visual expression, promise, positioning, and storytelling wherever brand creative lives.
Collaborate with cross functional partners to implement and improve our processes to streamline how the work gets done.
Work across all elements of creative production, from leading whiteboards and workshops, brainstorms and ideations, to leading and empowering the team to operate at a high level.
Ideate creative campaigns, sometimes on your own, sometimes with the wider Linktree team, and sometimes with global partners.
Work closely with our Head of Product Design to further expand the Linktree brand across product surfaces and how we communicate our product's power to our delightfully diverse creators.
What We Are Looking For:
8+ years in creative management or leadership roles, either in-house or agency.
A strong background and evidence of Creative Direction.
Shown leadership, management and mentorship to coach and develop juniors through to leads.
The ability to unearth emotive and evocative creative ideas that drive real-world results.
A balance of creative and art direction, supported by process and people management, and an ability to zoom in to the granular detail as well as lead broader creative strategy and vision.
Experience working across the entire production process, from building initiatives to providing creative direction to developing messaging to implementing.
Strong background with people and project management to coordinate multiple groups and functions across various projects and initiatives.
Extensive experience ideating, adapting and working across numerous outputs; social, video, email, digital (website, blog, mobile) video, in-product, etc.
Global market experience - your creative needs to be adaptable and localizable to different regions and cultures.
Background working within consumer tech startups or SaaS products and platforms.
Where & How We Work
We are a global, diverse group across age, gender, and race and offer a truly flexible and family friendly work environment. Kids, pets, and the occasional delivery person are all actively encouraged to appear on our Zoom screens. All of us at Linktree work either fully remote or a hybrid "remote, but in-office sometimes" approach and that will continue even when COVID is behind us.
We currently have offices in Melbourne, Sydney and LA is coming next, but our team is spread across Australia, United States, and New Zealand. Growing from 20 people in early 2020, to 50 in 2021 and over 200 in 2022, Linktree is still growing rapidly!
Being globally distributed doesn't mean working to one timezone and we offer autonomy and flexibility in how you structure your days and weeks. There will be the need for some collaboration outside of a "normal" 9-5 being a global company, but we aim to work asynchronously where possible.
