Position Summary
As a Senior Manager of Software Quality Assurance at Light & Wonder, you'll lead a team of SQA Engineers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality gaming products. You'll engage in hiring and mentoring your team members, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and define and execute comprehensive test strategies. Your role is crucial in ensuring seamless execution of Quality best practices and maintaining high standards in alignment with department and company goals.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage SQA roadmap, projects and team to deliver high quality games on time and within budget
Help develop and implement comprehensive quality initiatives aligned with the organization's business objectives
Build, lead, and mentor high-performing QA teams, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Collaborate closely with product owners, development teams, and other stakeholders to ensure quality standards and project expectations are met
Mentor team members to identify, assess, and mitigate quality risks throughout the software development lifecycle
Continuously improve QA processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Oversee Test Planning and Execution including creation and execution of effective test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Engage fully in defect management process and facilitate robust defect tracking and resolution process
Monitor and analyze key quality metrics to measure team performance and identify areas for improvement
Drive the adoption of automation tools and frameworks to optimize testing efforts
Stay up to date with the latest QA technologies and trends and explore opportunities for innovation
Provide technical guidance and support to the QA team, addressing complex technical challenges
Qualifications
Experience in leading multiple, simultaneous projects in parallel with successful results
Expertise in establishing testing guidelines and providing technical advice to team members regarding design and delivery of test strategies to accelerate games to market
Extensive Software testing and/or development experience
Familiarity with COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) tools such as JIRA, qTest, Confluence, Perforce/GitHub
Working knowledge of Testing methodologies, CI/CD, and associated technologies that facilitate robust quality assurance practices.
Solid understanding of the art and science of Software Quality Assurance
Gaming industry experience preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent. Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent preferred
Required Experience:
5+ years of experience leading SQA teams in a Supervisory or Managerial capacity
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to provide clear direction and leadership to direct reports as well as other groups within LnW
Maintains currency in test technology developments and evolving gaming technologies
Ability to keep up with changing and new jurisdictional requirements to provide the review and drive for additional enhancements to test coverage
Ability to review requirements for testability and provide guidance to the team
Oversee development of test strategies, test automation frameworks, test methods, test tool selection
Mentor and train SQA engineers on test methods and new technologies

Physical Requirements:
Extensive time in front of LCD’s and Electronic Gaming Machine screens
Work Conditions:
