About Lexington Medical Center
At Lexington Medical Center, our mission, unchanged since our inception in 1971, is to provide quality health services that meet the needs of our communities. We believe that a steadfast commitment to the well-being of our community truly makes a difference, and we demonstrate this commitment every single day. What began as Lexington County Hospital, a nonprofit institution, quickly established itself as a healthcare leader. Over five decades later, we continue to proudly serve our community as a local, independent, nonprofit hospital, fostering a progressive workplace dedicated to excellence in patient care.
Our culture is one of compassion, innovation, and community focus. We were pioneers in establishing satellite health facilities and the first community health education department in our area. We also opened the state’s first satellite outpatient facility offering a range of services including surgery and urgent care. This spirit of innovation continued as we grew to meet the evolving needs of our community, introducing programs on disease management and essential healthcare skills. We strive to create an environment where our dedicated and talented team of healthcare professionals can thrive, enabling us to be consistently recognized with honors such as Columbia's 'Best Place to Have a Baby,' 'Best Hospital,' and one of the 'Top 25 Best Hospitals to Work for in the U.S.' These accolades are a testament to the relationship-based culture we cultivate, emphasizing service to our patients and to one another. We are committed to maintaining this culture of excellence and accessibility as we continue to grow and serve.
