We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Revenue Accountant who will support the Revenue Accounting Manager by reporting and analyzing revenue and AR in accordance to accounting standards, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and a curiosity for the company.

This is a full-time remote position. Eastern Time Zone preferred. Salary starting at $80,000/annually.

Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606
  • Be a key member in the revenue monthly close process, by updating and maintaining revenue and AR reporting and analysis
  • Prepare journal entries and prepare account reconciliations and analyses as assigned, specifically Account Receivable, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts, Unapplied Cash Balances, PLB A/R Activity
  • Investigate errors and inconsistencies in Revenue and AR entries, documents, and reports
  • Thorough knowledge and ownership in the reporting and analysis that you are assigned.
  • Participate in improving internal controls, policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Interfacing with individuals within and outside of the organization to ensure proper treatment of revenue accounting transactions
  • Support periodic and annual audit as related to the revenue and AR processes
  • Work effectively under tight deadlines in a team environment with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and responsiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business required; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in revenue accounting
  • Strong practical working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606 is required
  • Advanced ability in MS Excel. Must be able to create and use, pivot tables, Sumifs and X-lookups. Must be comfortable with large data sets.
  • Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains knowledge a plus; Adaptive is a Plus
  • Experience with insurance billing, services business, project-based accounting systems, time and materials contracts, and/or labor-based invoicing a plus
  • Analytic, detail-oriented, and inquisitive
  • Demonstrated ability to meet monthly closing and project deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Desire to take on increasing responsibility
