Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and month-end close procedures.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Lead and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial integrity, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices, recommending process enhancements as needed.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, contributing financial expertise and insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains (GP) or similar ERP systems is required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of healthcare finance, including reimbursement methodologies, regulatory compliance, and industry trends.
- Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
