JOB OVERVIEW:Site Reliability Engineers at Kevel play a crucial role in keeping Kevel running by defining, measuring, and improving reliability. Our SREs help teams deliver secure, reliable services as often as possible without compromising on quality and developer experience. As our team continues to scale globally, we are looking for talented and driven Site Reliability Engineers with a strong background in software engineering to solve operations problems with software. PAY TRANSPARENCY:Kevel uses external, third-party market data to determine compensation for all open positions. Our compensation philosophy is based on the candidate’s specific working location AND experience level. This means that we will take a no negotiation approach in our recruitment and offer processes. An exact offer for this position will be determined based on the candidate's working location and experience level, in relation to our existing team, and will be between €60,000 - €75,000 annually. This position is not eligible for a bonus.

LOCATION:Remote - Portugal. This position can be based out of our Porto office, remote, or hybrid. Applicants located anywhere within Portugal are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be legally eligible to work within Portugal.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Work with engineering teams to define reliability targets for their services, solve security and reliability issues, and improve observability
  • Embed in engineering teams to solve acute operational issues
  • Evaluate services for production readiness
  • Automate away time-consuming manual tasks
  • Operate production infrastructure
  • Lead incident responses and ensure incidents are fully resolved
  • Lead by example to improve Kevel’s SRE practices
  • Administer shared vendored products and provide internal support
  • Take part in on-call rotations to deliver out-of-hours support for systems owned by the Quality Engineering team

SKILLS YOU’LL BRING WITH YOU:

  • Strong software engineering experience
  • Experience operating production systems
  • AWS, GCP or equivalent cloud platform experience
  • Datadog (or similar logging/monitoring platform)
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong written English
