The Director, Content and Strategy, High School Segment supports our high school segment, which offers test prep and college and career readiness solutions for AP, ACT, SAT, and related programs. This role requires a blend of content development, product marketing, and project management skills to drive the creation, positioning, and execution of high-quality educational content, program design, and resources. This role also collaborates across multiple teams, including sales, technology, operations and marketing, to ensure the success of our high school product offerings.

Primary/Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Management:

  • Develop and oversee multi-modal, high-quality educational content for AP, ACT, SAT, and college and career readiness products used by high school learners and those who support them.
  • Edit and enhance the work of authors and subject matter experts to ensure clarity, engagement, and alignment with pedagogical best practices.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, educators, and multimedia teams to develop interactive digital learning experiences.
  • Use market research and feedback to inform content development and improvement.

Sales (Go-To-Market) Strategy & Support:

  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop messaging, collateral, and product positioning that resonates with high school educators and administrators.
  • Train internal stakeholders, including sales teams, on product features, benefits, and competitive differentiators.
  • Support go-to-market initiatives, including launch plans, sales enablement resources, and educator engagement strategies.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables align with segment goals.
  • Execute clear and timely communication throughout the value change and product lifecycle for alignment and risk mitigation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to maintain project workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in testing product plans and analyzing results to drive continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, Marketing, English or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in content development, product marketing, or project management within an educational publishing, EdTech, or test prep environment.
  • Proven experience developing print and digital educational content, preferably for high school test preparation or college and career readiness.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience and working knowledge of instructional design principles and the ability to use data to inform content decisions.
  • Robust experience in education; knowing both systems and schools.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in education, curriculum development, or instructional design.
  • Experience in B2B EdTech product marketing or sales enablement.
  • Knowledge of high school curriculum standards and testing requirements.

For full-time positions, Kaplan has two Salary Grades, this position is Salary Grade B: $64,000 - $202,600. Actual compensation for this role is determined by several factors including but not limited to job level, candidate's skills, experience, and education, among other factors determined by the business.
