Sr. Software Test Engineer, Copilot AI Infra (Remote - India)

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge revenue platform by ensuring quality, reliability, and scalability across backend services and integrations. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to design and implement test strategies for complex distributed systems. The role emphasizes automation, test optimization, and continuous improvement, giving you the chance to influence both technical standards and product quality. You will tackle challenging testing problems across APIs, event-driven pipelines, and asynchronous workflows, while mentoring peers and strengthening CI/CD processes. This is a fully remote role based in India with occasional travel to Bengaluru. It is ideal for experienced test engineers who are passionate about quality, automation, and collaborative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities

• Own the integration and end-to-end testing strategy for Copilot Foundations, including CRM, calendar, recorder, call processing, and AI extraction.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into clear, testable contracts and plan scenarios with product and engineering teams.
• Design, implement, and maintain Java-based automation frameworks using best practices for SOLID, extensibility, and maintainability.
• Conduct service and contract testing for REST/gRPC, including async/event flows and queues/streams.
• Harden CI/CD quality gates with tiered test suites, parallel execution, and defect management strategies.
• Measure, monitor, and improve coverage, reliability, and flakiness across APIs, contracts, and critical product journeys.
• Debug complex distributed system issues and drive root-cause analysis, improving observability and test data management.
• Mentor and influence teams on testability, regression impact assessment, and shared testing standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend/API testing with increasing ownership and responsibility.
• Expert in Java for test automation, framework design, and reading Node.js/Python services.
• Hands-on experience with TestNG/JUnit, RestAssured, build tools (Maven/Gradle), and CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
• Strong understanding of LLD/OO design principles (SOLID) and clean, maintainable test code.
• Deep expertise in REST/gRPC, API contracts, authentication (OAuth/SAML), and contract testing frameworks like WireMock or Pact.
• Proven debugging skills across distributed systems including logs, traces, HTTP, queues/streams, and databases.
• Practical experience with SQL (Postgres/MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB).
• Experience with containers and cloud platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP) and environment management.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures, streaming pipelines, and non-functional testing (performance, load, resilience).
• Strong requirements elicitation, risk identification, and stakeholder communication skills.
