This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and inspire a team of talented engineers working on foundational systems and high-impact initiatives. Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable software.
- Set technical vision, drive execution on high-impact initiatives, and maintain alignment across teams.
- Partner with Product and Design teams to define long-term strategies and product roadmaps.
- Conduct code reviews, contribute to architecture decisions, and occasionally participate in hands-on coding.
- Empower engineers with business context and ownership of team roadmaps and deliverables.
- Collaborate with peer managers to refine organizational processes, including hiring, onboarding, and project execution.
- Support customer-facing initiatives by addressing needs and concerns with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 2+ years of people management experience leading product engineering teams.
- Proven experience managing teams through all stages of the product development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, observability, release strategies, and incident management.
- Deep understanding of systems engineering, database architecture, compute engines, or compiler design.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with expertise in C, C++, Rust, or Java.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in remote-first or distributed team environments, with startup or scale-up exposure.
- Pragmatic and toolchain-agnostic, with a history of selecting technologies that best fit project goals.
- Ability to define high-performing teams and provide clear guidance to achieve outcomes.
