This role is ideal for a skilled engineer who thrives in building scalable, modern software systems from the ground up. You will work in a fully remote, high-impact environment, contributing to products that directly improve the financial health of thousands of users. The position combines hands-on coding, system architecture, and mentorship responsibilities, allowing you to influence both technical decisions and product strategy. Accountabilities:
- Architect, build, test, and maintain scalable systems using NodeJs, TypeScript, NestJS, and NextJS.
- Lead development of high-quality software products, including personal finance scenario builders and tax calculators.
- Manage complex integrations to ensure seamless user experiences and accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape product strategy and technical architecture.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, promoting best practices in system design and development.
- Ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and maintainable systems that meet stringent correctness requirements.
Requirements
- Strong experience in building, deploying, and scaling modern serverless or container-based systems.
- Proficiency with NodeJs and TypeScript; familiarity with NestJS, NextJS, Terraform, CloudFormation, Postgres, and Redshift is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects from concept to production.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical creativity to design elegant solutions under constraints.
- Good product sense, with the ability to weigh trade-offs and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with distributed teams.
- Bonus: experience in fintech or personal finance applications, and knowledge of cloud-based architecture.
