Software Engineer - Backend (Remote - India)

We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain the systems that power high-performance data platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to develop robust, scalable backend services and data workflows. You will be responsible for implementing APIs, optimizing database queries, and ensuring system reliability and security. Accountabilities

• Design and implement backend services and APIs using Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for large relational databases.
• Build scalable, reliable, and secure systems that ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and share best practices.
• Monitor and debug production systems, implementing optimizations as needed.
• Write unit, integration, and system tests to maintain high code quality.
• Document system architecture, operational procedures, and backend workflows.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Strong SQL skills, including advanced queries using GROUP BY, HAVING, window functions, and complex joins.
• Experience building RESTful APIs or microservices.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
