We are seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Development Engineer to join a fast-paced, innovative engineering environment. In this role, you will connect design and production phases, contributing directly to the development and validation of advanced products. You will lead technical testing, create and execute validation plans, and troubleshoot complex system issues while collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering team. Accountabilities
- Create, manage, and execute comprehensive product validation plans, including FMEA, field testing, and compliance certification.
- Develop project plans and manage projects from concept to completion.
- Define new product system requirements and provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and diagnosing design issues.
- Innovate test procedures and automate long-term testing to accelerate timelines.
- Develop models to simulate system behavior prior to physical testing.
- Design, build, and specify test apparatus and infrastructure.
- Document and communicate test results, observations, and conclusions effectively.
- Generate 2D system schematics for development specifications and engineering drawings.
- Mentor other Systems Engineers and collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to drive product innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience in product validation and/or development.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Matlab or Python.
- Strong systematic thinking and documentation skills for processes, procedures, and test results.
- Experience running experiments or validating products in lab or field environments.
- Familiarity with FMEA processes and electrical circuit fundamentals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when needed.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and motivation to improve both self and team.
Nice-to-Have:
- 10+ years of product validation/development experience.
- Experience leading FMEA sessions.
- CAD, Matlab, or Simulink experience.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC regulations and testing.
- Marine industry experience.
