We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead a team of application development engineers responsible for designing, developing, and delivering complex enterprise software solutions. In this role, you will oversee multiple large-scale projects, ensuring technical quality, timeliness, and alignment with business objectives. You will collaborate closely with architects, analysts, data experts, and stakeholders to provide technical guidance and strategic oversight. The position includes mentoring staff, managing third-party vendors, and driving operational excellence while maintaining adherence to security and change management policies. Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage a team of senior application development engineers, overseeing large-scale, complex software projects.
- Ensure project scope, schedule, and budget are monitored, communicated, and delivered effectively.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to staff, including career development planning and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, data stewards, and SMEs to deliver high-quality application solutions.
- Manage third-party development teams, holding vendors accountable to standards, policies, and performance expectations.
- Define risk evaluation processes and participate in mitigation and control activities.
- Ensure compliance with security and change management policies, working closely with Security and SRE teams.
- Lead design and development of proof-of-concept and prototype application environments.
- Establish operational objectives, delegate tasks, and drive results across application development activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, including management experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
- Proven experience leading and managing software development teams, including mentoring and coaching staff.
- Strong understanding of enterprise software architecture, application development best practices, and large-scale project delivery.
- Familiarity with Java, React, AWS, and CI/CD processes.
- Experience managing third-party development teams and vendor relationships.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and make informed decisions based on project progress.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to inspire teams, set objectives, and ensure delivery of quality solutions.
