Senior Data QA Engineer (Remote - Latam)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data QA Engineer in Latin America.

In this role, you will ensure the reliability, accuracy, and integrity of complex data systems that power critical business processes. You will design and implement robust data testing strategies, debug and resolve quality issues, and maintain automated testing frameworks using modern tools like Python and dbt. Collaborating closely with data engineers and cross-functional teams, you will champion data quality best practices while contributing to scalable, high-impact projects. This role provides a remote-friendly, flexible environment where technical expertise, problem-solving, and innovation are highly valued, offering opportunities to influence the development of next-generation data products.

Accountabilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data test strategies and automated frameworks to ensure data reliability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to improve data quality across pipelines.
• Debug data quality issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with data engineers to implement solutions.
• Drive adoption of best practices in data QA and promote continuous process improvements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on projects involving complex datasets, including financial information.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align QA processes and ensure consistent, high-quality data delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience in data quality assurance, data testing, or related roles.
• Expertise in Python and SQL (including Snowflake and Postgres).
• Proficiency with dbt for data modeling, transformations, testing, and quality validation.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (S3, DynamoDB, Glue, Lambda) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and source/version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar ETL workflow orchestration tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities, with capability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Self-driven, continuous learner with experience coordinating solutions across multiple teams.
