We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated engineer to lead the development and optimization of a large-scale data platform that powers critical insights for global digital experiences. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies like AWS, Databricks, and Terraform, collaborating closely with data scientists and engineers to deliver high-performance solutions. Accountabilities:
As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of AWS and Databricks environments to support analytics and data science workloads.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, standardizing environments and enabling efficient CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes using Python, Spark, SQL, and AWS tools (Glue, API Gateway, EC2, DynamoDB).
- Apply FinOps best practices, monitoring usage, optimizing resource allocation, and managing cost governance.
- Ensure platform security and compliance through strong IAM, network segmentation, and encryption management.
- Collaborate with internal data engineering and product teams to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Contribute to documentation, design reviews, and continuous improvement of operational practices.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 3+ years of experience in data, platform, or DevOps engineering with extensive AWS expertise.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience developing scalable ETL and data workflows.
- Knowledge of Databricks administration, Terraform, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- A solid understanding of FinOps principles, including cost optimization, tagging, and rightsizing strategies.
- Experience implementing security-first architectures with IAM, RBAC, and secrets management.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset suited for small, high-impact engineering teams.
- A passion for innovation, data-driven problem-solving, and building reliable cloud infrastructure.
- Bonus points for familiarity with AWS Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, or an enthusiasm for gaming and sports analytics.
