This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior BI Developer - Platform Migration in India.
In this role, you will lead a high-impact initiative to migrate business intelligence capabilities from a legacy MSSQL and MicroStrategy environment to a modern data platform built on Databricks, dbt, and Power BI. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure accurate, scalable, and high-performing analytics solutions. This position offers the opportunity to influence the future of the analytics infrastructure, improve self-service capabilities, and deliver insights that drive data-driven decision-making. You will design and optimize data models, transformation pipelines, and interactive dashboards while mentoring team members and establishing governance standards for the new platform. The role requires both technical depth and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Accountabilities
- Lead end-to-end BI platform migration strategy from MSSQL/MicroStrategy to Databricks, dbt, and Power BI.
- Assess existing reports, dashboards, and data models to define migration priorities and requirements.
- Rebuild and optimize MicroStrategy reports and dashboards in Power BI, ensuring feature parity and performance improvements.
- Develop scalable data models, transformation pipelines, and reusable data marts to support analytics needs.
- Implement data quality validation processes, version control, testing, and CI/CD practices for analytics code.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements, provide technical guidance, and conduct training sessions on new BI tools.
- Document migration processes, data lineage, and technical architecture while establishing best practices and governance standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in BI development with a proven track record of enterprise analytics delivery.
- Strong MicroStrategy expertise, including report development, dashboards, and platform administration.
- Advanced SQL skills with MSSQL experience, including query optimization.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and report design.
- Experience with dbt for data transformation, testing, and documentation.
- Familiarity with Databricks or other cloud-based data platforms; willingness to learn new technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale BI platform migrations, including data validation and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling, star schemas, data warehouse concepts, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: Azure cloud experience, Python for data processing, certifications in Power BI/Databricks/dbt, agile project experience, and background in data architecture or data engineering.
