As a Senior QA Engineer, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of embedded hardware and software systems within a fast-growing technology ecosystem. You will work in a fully remote environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and execute comprehensive test plans that validate real-world product performance. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to both manual and automated testing, while leveraging hardware diagnostics and integration frameworks. You will play a crucial role in maintaining system integrity across complex platforms, helping to deliver seamless experiences for a diverse customer base. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for embedded hardware and software systems.
- Perform manual and automated testing across firmware, mobile, and web integrations.
- Collaborate with development, product, and hardware teams to understand technical requirements and use cases.
- Maintain and enhance automation frameworks for embedded devices.
- Conduct integration, regression, and system-level testing for key functionalities, including ELD, GPS, AI cameras, OBD, and CAN interfaces.
- Report, track, and validate defects using QA tools and participate in code and test reviews.
- Debug embedded system issues using serial consoles, analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Contribute to QA documentation, process improvements, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in embedded QA, preferably in fleet, automotive, or IoT systems.
- Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing for embedded platforms.
- Strong understanding of embedded architectures and real-time systems.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ for test automation and scripting.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, OBD-II, UART, BLE, and Wi-Fi.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, CI/CD workflows, and QA best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong ownership and accountability.
- Nice to have: experience with AI camera systems, telematics devices, GPS/accelerometer data, and test management or analytics tools.
