This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Python Engineer with AWS Experience in the United States.
The Python Engineer with AWS Experience will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining API endpoints and integrations for a large-scale national platform. This position involves designing, testing, and deploying solutions in an agile environment, while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to high-level architecture decisions, and document technical solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced development setting, brings strong Python and AWS expertise, and has experience managing high-traffic systems. This role offers the opportunity to impact national-level communications while working on complex, data-intensive applications. Candidates must be U.S. citizens eligible for a federal "public trust" security clearance.
Accountabilities
- Develop, test, and debug API endpoints and integrations in Python within an agile framework.
- Collaborate with internal, partner, and client teams to design, implement, and review technical solutions.
- Participate in daily scrums and support continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Document changes, create playbooks, and maintain technical knowledge for ongoing support.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and communicate rationale to the engineering team.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve platform challenges, optimizing for high-volume data processing.
- Build relationships with cross-department teams, partners, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a federal "public trust" security clearance.
- 5+ years of professional experience in back-end engineering using Python.
- Strong AWS experience, including ECS, Resilient Lambdas, SNS, and Queue Management.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
- Experience with Docker, Datadog, BigQuery, CSS, and high-traffic, data-intensive platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with multiple daily deploys.
- Strong problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and effective communication abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred; public code repositories (e.g., GitHub) a plus.
- Available during core hours of 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST.
