The Project Engineering Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact application development projects in a remote-first environment. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, overseeing teams to ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions. The successful candidate will drive the adoption of best practices, mentor developers, and collaborate cross-functionally to align technical initiatives with organizational objectives. Accountabilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of application developers, providing hands-on guidance and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of application development projects, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and budget.
- Provide technical expertise in software design, architecture, and development methodologies including DevSecOps, Azure cloud services, and API management.
- Implement quality assurance practices, including testing strategies, code reviews, and process improvements to ensure robust and reliable software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers to integrate technical aspects with business objectives.
- Contribute to long-term technical strategy, identifying opportunities for innovation, process optimization, and risk mitigation.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for applications, architectures, and development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in application development and hands-on technical leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in C# .NET, JavaScript, API development (REST and SOAP), web technologies (HTML, CSS, jQuery), and Azure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, automation, API Management, Function Apps, Power Platform, Entra/B2C, and Managed Identity.
- Experience in government contracting, healthcare, or insurance domains preferred.
- Proficient in Agile methodologies, project management tools (JIRA), and software development best practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust (MBI).
