The Client Service Network Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing network performance for enterprise clients, ensuring seamless connectivity and robust security across on-premise and cloud environments. This role combines technical expertise with client-facing responsibilities, providing troubleshooting, escalation support, and network architecture guidance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to resolve complex network issues, implement changes, and deliver high-quality service. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to strategic network initiatives, lead problem-solving efforts, and mentor technical colleagues in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented, and have a strong track record in network engineering and client service excellence.
Accountabilities
- Serve as the escalation point for Tier 3 system and network issues, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution.
- Lead network recovery efforts during outages, including switching, routing, telephony, and telecom infrastructure management.
- Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network issues; perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring problems.
- Provide on-call support and communicate status updates, changes, and outages to clients proactively.
- Implement network monitoring, alerting, and escalation procedures across client environments.
- Administer and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud network devices, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with standards.
- Support client onboarding/offboarding and participate in medium-to-large scale network projects.
- Mentor and train other technical staff, providing guidance on network best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, including routing, switching, load balancing, and security.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, BCNE, NSE6, JNCIE, or ACDP highly desirable.
- Expertise with network systems, LAN/WAN/MPLS/SD-WAN standards, and protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF.
- In-depth knowledge of network security technologies, including NGFW, IPS/IDS, VPNs, and cloud networking (Azure required; AWS/Google a plus).
- Experience planning, designing, and deploying complex network architectures and performing capacity/performance monitoring.
- Strong understanding of 802.11 wireless principles, QoS, traffic shaping, and 802.1X implementation.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and client service skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
