This role offers the opportunity to lead and innovate within the aviation connectivity space, focusing on broadband solutions for commercial and business aviation. The Principal Solutions Architect will drive adoption of advanced technologies, act as a trusted advisor to customers, and shape product evolution through technical expertise and strategic insight. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and commercial challenges, support complex deals, and build long-term strategic partnerships. You will develop reference architectures, create best practices, and contribute thought leadership that enables impactful solutions. The role is highly visible, client-facing, and central to driving innovation in aviation connectivity.
Accountabilities:
The Principal Solutions Architect will be responsible for guiding customers and internal teams through solution design, technical implementation, and strategic adoption:
- Serve as the voice of the customer to influence product features, capabilities, and roadmap.
- Incubate, launch, and scale new aviation connectivity solutions to meet customer needs.
- Translate complex customer requirements into technical solutions, collaborating closely with product management and engineering teams.
- Identify and resolve technical and commercial challenges, enabling innovative product offerings.
- Support strategic business development, pricing, and deal negotiation.
- Focus on complex deals and develop long-term strategic partnerships with customers.
- Create and capture best practices, technical content, reference architectures, and documentation to support team knowledge and customer adoption.
Requirements
Candidates should have extensive experience in aviation connectivity and technical solution leadership:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in in-flight connectivity or aviation technology, targeting commercial and/or business aviation.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives.
- Experience with training, workshops, and publishing technical content.
- Comfort with presentations, whiteboarding, and speaking to internal and external executives, IT management, and developers.
- Programming experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript, Go, .Net, or Java is a plus.
- Experience taking aviation connectivity products and services from concept through operational deployment.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
