This role offers the opportunity to architect and deliver enterprise-scale platform solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure and GitHub Enterprise. As a Principal Platform Engineer, you will drive automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices to enhance developer productivity, platform reliability, and security. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams, providing hands-on delivery, technical guidance, and best practices for platform engineering. The position emphasizes leadership in platform strategy, governance, and modern DevOps workflows, including advanced security and compliance measures. Your work will directly influence large-scale cloud environments and enable businesses to accelerate innovation and operational agility. This is a high-impact role for a skilled engineer passionate about scalable, secure, and automated platform solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Architect and implement scalable, secure platform solutions using Azure and GitHub Enterprise.
- Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Establish best practices for platform governance, security, and administration, including GitHub Advanced Security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable developer productivity and platform reliability.
- Guide clients through modern platform practices and “golden path” workflows.
- Mentor internal teams on platform engineering techniques and the technical benefits of automation.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in GitHub Enterprise (Cloud and Server), including administration, workflows, security, and integrations.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot, Advanced Security (Code Scanning, Secret Scanning), and developer workflow enhancements.
- Hands-on proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and CI/CD pipeline automation.
- Knowledge of containerization and cloud-native architectures (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience leading source control system migrations from planning to execution.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
- Optional: Azure Policy, Blueprints, HashiCorp Vault, FinOps, multi-cloud strategies, observability stacks, and relevant certifications (AZ-400, GitHub).
