This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Manager - Customer Engineering (Automation Testing/Solutions Engineering) in India.
In this role, you will lead and scale a high-performing Customer Engineering team, driving technical pre-sales and automation testing initiatives for enterprise clients. You will act as a technical authority, partnering with customers and internal teams to deliver impactful solutions while optimizing engineering workflows. The position combines hands-on expertise in Selenium and automation frameworks with strategic leadership, mentoring, and people management. You will guide your team in technical discovery, solution demonstrations, and workflow automation, enabling customers to maximize their evaluation of complex software platforms. This role provides exposure to cutting-edge technologies, diverse enterprise environments, and opportunities to influence product direction.
Accountabilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor the Customer Engineering team, conducting performance reviews and handling escalations.
- Scale the Customer Engineering practice by streamlining processes, building workflows, and creating reusable technical artifacts.
- Serve as the technical architect for customer evaluations, including pre-sales engineering, technical discovery, RFP responses, and solution demonstrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to develop innovative technical solutions.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer technical environments and workflows to deliver tailored automation and testing solutions.
- Capture technical product requirements and customer feedback, relaying insights to product teams to enhance solutions.
- Promote best practices in automation testing, CI/CD pipelines, security, and network integrations.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of engineering experience, preferably in B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
- Prior experience as an Automation Test Manager, Lead, or Solutions Engineer with hands-on expertise in Selenium.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with IDEs and development tools (Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio, Maven, Git).
- Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks (JUnit/NUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, WebDriverIO).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, Azure DevOps).
- Understanding of networking and security protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, VPNs, IPsec, firewalls).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline; familiarity with Agile and SDLC practices.
- Excellent communication, client interaction, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven people management skills, including hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, and team growth.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, remote-first environment with flexible working hours (5PM–2AM IST).
