We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on improving developer productivity through infrastructure and platform solutions. In this role, you will manage backend engineers, design and implement tools to streamline development workflows, and reduce friction in local development environments. You will collaborate closely with engineers, stakeholders, and leadership to identify pain points, define strategic roadmaps, and measure adoption and impact of implemented solutions. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of developer needs. You will have the opportunity to shape greenfield projects, scale existing solutions, and mentor engineers to foster growth and high performance within a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage a team of backend infrastructure engineers to deliver tools and services that improve developer productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineers, leadership, and stakeholders to identify local development pain points and define strategies with detailed roadmaps.
  • Design, build, and iterate on code authoring solutions while actively measuring effectiveness and adoption.
  • Serve as a technical leader within the team, supporting architectural decisions and promoting high-quality code and engineering practices.
  • Take ownership of team processes and services, ensuring SLA adherence and operational reliability.
  • Partner with talent teams to recruit, onboard, and retain exceptional engineers aligned with team culture.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to maximize their impact and support career growth.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering with hands-on coding expertise.
  • Minimum 2+ years of engineering management experience, leading high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong focus on high-quality code, software engineering processes, and delivering impactful changes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize initiatives, and execute with an outcome-focused mindset.
  • Deep empathy for developers as primary stakeholders, with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proven experience delivering large initiatives that influence organizational change and improve productivity.
  • Hands-on capability when needed, including coding, reviewing technical documents, triaging bugs, or participating in on-call rotations.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments and leading teams focused on infrastructure or developer productivity solutions.
