This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead IoT Systems Engineer in the United States.
In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of connected IoT products across embedded, mobile, and cloud platforms. You will establish technical architecture, guide multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensure alignment with smart home ecosystems and industry standards. This position allows you to drive innovation in IoT-enabled water products, shaping both the user experience and technical infrastructure. You will oversee the full product lifecycle, from ideation to production, while optimizing performance, reliability, and scalability. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic vision, enabling the integration of cutting-edge technology into everyday consumer products.
Accountabilities
- Provide technical leadership and define architecture for cloud, mobile, and embedded IoT products.
- Guide product development teams in technology selection, implementation, and support.
- Lead alignment with smart home consortiums and coordinate with internal teams and partners.
- Deliver connected products from concept to production with a forward-looking product lifecycle.
- Ensure technical documentation, requirement management, and verification (DFMEA, P-Diagrams, etc.) are maintained.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to meet product requirements and goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on user feedback and operational performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technology field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive systems engineering experience in complex IoT-enabled solutions and products.
- Familiarity with IoT ecosystems including firmware, mobile and cloud applications, connectivity (BLE, WiFi, Thread), and cybersecurity.
- Experience with over-the-air updates for battery-powered devices and cloud performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of architectural frameworks (DoDAF, Zachman, TOGAF) for communicating complex system designs.
- Strategic IoT ecosystem experience, including Matter and C2C service extensions.
- Preferred: INCOSE certification and experience defining IoT data schemas for product functionality or monetization.
