This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer in North America.
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to drive the design, implementation, and management of mission-critical cloud infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to lead and mentor a geographically distributed team, oversee complex cloud projects, and ensure high reliability and scalability across a diverse ecosystem of applications. You will work closely with engineering teams to implement infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and automation solutions, supporting a high-traffic SaaS environment. Accountabilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS best practices.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of senior and mid-level engineers across multiple locations.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions for complex cloud environments using Terraform and related tools.
- Ensure system reliability and stability by creating observability, monitoring, alerting, and dashboards for critical components.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, efficient solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, acting as the first line of defense during outages.
- Coordinate frequent production releases in a SaaS environment and support high uptime requirements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of DevOps experience with AWS infrastructure and services.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical teams and managing cloud projects.
- 5+ years working with modern CI/CD technologies such as GitLab or GitHub.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes or Amazon EKS) in production.
- 3+ years experience with Terraform in large-scale environments.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and Agile project delivery experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively or independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Desired: Experience integrating monitoring tools (Datadog or equivalent), multi-region/multi-cloud deployments, and relevant AWS/Kubernetes certifications.
