Full Stack - Senior Rails Engineer (Anywhere in LATAM)

As a Senior Rails Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building robust, high-performance web applications. You will work across the full stack, implementing APIs, optimizing backend systems, and contributing to frontend development with modern technologies. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic, cross-functional team, mentor junior engineers, and ensure software quality through testing and best practices. You will have the autonomy to drive solutions that enhance performance, scalability, and system reliability, while working in a fully remote environment across Latin America.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications with clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using API-first paradigms to implement backend and frontend solutions.
• Ensure application performance, stability, and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting while maintaining high software quality standards.
• Support and mentor team members, fostering collaboration and continuous learning.
• Implement automated testing frameworks to improve reliability and proactively identify issues affecting speed, security, or efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, including design and optimization.
• Experience with background job processing systems.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms.
• Experience or solid knowledge in frontend technologies such as TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Advanced English proficiency (B2 or higher).
• Ability to work remotely across Latin America with self-motivation and strong collaboration skills.
