This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead engineering projects from concept through construction completion while overseeing a talented team of engineers and technical staff. The Engineering Supervisor will manage client relationships, act as Project Manager or Engineer of Record on select projects, and ensure high-quality technical deliverables. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills to balance multiple projects, staff development, and business objectives. The role also involves mentoring staff, collaborating with regional managers on recruiting and planning, and supporting business development efforts. Accountabilities
- Oversee project execution from conceptual design through construction completion, ensuring quality and compliance with office standards.
- Manage client relationships, including meetings with architects, contractors, and internal teams to drive project success.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, facilitating professional development, performance management, and workload allocation.
- Review designs and construction documents to resolve technical issues and respond to complex field inquiries.
- Support business development through client retention, proposal writing, and identifying future project opportunities.
- Partner with department and regional managers on staffing, onboarding, and office planning initiatives.
- Track project revenue, monitor financial metrics, and contribute to office business planning and team engagement.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license; multiple state licensure preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering with PE/SE certification.
- 10–20 years of experience in commercial or institutional building design.
- Proficiency with Revit and industry-standard software, including Microsoft Office, Bentley (RAM), RISA, EnerCalc, and Adapt.
- Experience in seismic design preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
