As an Engineer II, DevSecOps, you will be a key contributor to building and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure that supports critical healthcare systems. In this role, you will work within agile software development teams to manage CI/CD pipelines, containerized services, and cloud-based environments, ensuring performance, security, and cost efficiency. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, operations teams, and security experts to troubleshoot issues, implement best practices, and maintain compliance. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with a focus on improving system reliability and security while enabling teams to deliver high-quality software. Your work will directly impact operational efficiency, system availability, and the safety of data for healthcare providers nationwide.
Accountabilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services with a focus on security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and safe code deployment.
- Support microservices architecture and container orchestration using Docker and ECS.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve system outages and technical issues.
- Implement and enforce system hardening, configuration management, and security best practices.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and activity to proactively identify and remediate potential vulnerabilities.
- Participate in agile sprint planning, design discussions, and on-call rotations to ensure operational continuity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, system administration, or a similar technical role.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Proficiency with cloud services (AWS: ECS, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, AWS CLI) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Amazon ECS).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and related infrastructure components.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash or zsh preferred) and Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior software development experience (JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, Python).
- Associate or Professional AWS certifications.
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, New Relic).
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB databases.
