This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager in the Americas.
This role provides the opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing team of field engineers supporting mission-critical embedded Linux solutions. You will manage a geographically distributed team, delivering presales and professional services to customers in diverse industries. The position combines technical leadership with hands-on expertise in Linux, embedded systems, and IoT, while driving team development and operational excellence. You will influence solution architecture, foster engineering best practices, and ensure that customer engagements meet the highest standards of quality and security. This is a fully remote role with a strong emphasis on collaboration, coaching, and continuous learning. Your work will directly impact both customer success and team growth across the Americas region.
Accountabilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of field engineers, ranging from junior to senior, across presales and professional services.
- Drive customer engagements by providing technical guidance, solution architecture, and delivery support.
- Implement and maintain disciplined engineering processes and operational standards.
- Represent your team and solutions to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Plan and manage progress on projects and team goals while monitoring team health indicators.
- Evangelize engineering best practices and organizational improvements.
- Collaborate as part of the leadership team to influence strategy and cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux, including Yocto or similar frameworks, and Linux distributions such as Ubuntu or Debian.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Previous experience managing small technical teams and coaching engineers.
- Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to communicate technical and business benefits clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, accountability, and result orientation.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, distributed work environment.
- Desirable: RTOS experience, additional programming or human languages, and prior remote-first company experience.
