This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Drupal Developer Lead in the United States.
The Drupal Developer Lead will oversee and guide a team of developers in delivering high-quality web applications while actively contributing to coding and technical design. This role blends hands-on development with leadership, fostering collaboration, peer review, and innovative solution design. You will lead modernization projects, ensure compliance with accessibility and security standards, and work across teams to enhance usability, performance, and overall user experience. This position offers a fully remote work environment and the opportunity to make a significant impact on large-scale federal web initiatives, leveraging modern technologies and cloud solutions.
Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor, and guide the development team, promoting best practices and coding standards.
- Conduct peer reviews and encourage collaborative problem-solving and technical design discussions.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with designers, QA engineers, infrastructure, and content leads.
- Hands-on Drupal 9/10 development, including custom module and theme creation, integration, and enhancements.
- Drive modernization projects to improve site performance, usability, accessibility (508 compliance), and user experience.
- Provide technical oversight for AWS-based architectures, including chatbot integrations and cloud services.
- Support operations and maintenance web content updates, ensuring compliance with federal web standards.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and act as the escalation point for the development team.
Requirements
- 6+ years of Drupal development experience (front-end and back-end).
- Proven leadership experience mentoring developers and conducting code reviews.
- Strong knowledge of Drupal 9/10 architecture, custom modules, themes, and API integrations.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance.
- Preferred: familiarity with USWDS, AWS cloud services (Lambda, S3, API Gateway), Tableau or other data visualization tools, and experience in federal web modernization projects.
