Director of Consumer Data Science (Remote - US)

This role leads a high-impact consumer data science organization focused on transforming how data informs product, marketing, ads, and business strategy. The Director will drive advanced quantitative modeling, experimentation, and analytics to provide actionable insights across multiple functions. This position requires strategic vision, technical depth, and the ability to influence senior leaders. You will build and scale a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, ML engineers, and analytics professionals, strengthening data foundations and ensuring the organization is trusted, scalable, and scientifically rigorous. This is a unique opportunity to shape the data science culture and capabilities of a large-scale, highly-engaged consumer platform.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the consumer data science organization, including data science, machine learning, analytics, and data engineering teams.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Ads, and Finance to provide clear, actionable insights that guide company strategy.
• Establish and uphold high standards for data science quality, governance, and reproducibility across the organization.
• Represent the company as a thought leader in data science, ML, experimentation, and measurement both internally and externally.
• Develop senior leaders within the team and build a strong pipeline of technical talent.
• Advance understanding of complex ecosystems, consumer behavior, and community interactions through sophisticated data modeling and experimentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or quantitative analytics, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven ability to define, communicate, and execute a data vision that drives measurable business impact.
• Deep expertise in data science, causal inference, machine learning, experimentation, and modern data platforms.
• Strong technical and scientific foundation with experience building and scaling data science and analytics teams.
• Exceptional influence, communication, and collaboration skills; able to present impartial insights to executives and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to develop senior talent and foster a high-performing, multidisciplinary organization.
